McKenzie Bezates
Kenzie has been practicing yoga for 20 years and teaching for 6. With a background as an athlete, Kenzie found that yoga allowed her to reconnect with her body and allowed her mind to observe the emotions that bubbled up during class.
Over time, this awareness began to trickle out into her every day life, allowing her to more keenly observe her reactions to every day life. Her practice is rooted in vinyasa and she most loves the exploration of transitions between the postures, finding grounding and new space as one posture evolves into the next. As a teacher, she most enjoys creating a container where all levels are welcome and the energy shared creates grounding and community. In her personal practice, she is currently awed by the power of breath practices to peel away and allow for the observation of anxiety and self.
She has trained with Allison Duckworth, Meghan Currie, and Julie Barron. She is an E-RYT-200, RYT-500 teacher and holds specialty certifications in yin yoga, yoga for PTSD, and kids yoga. She is also a certified personal trainer through NASM, and certified in Pilates reformer, TRX, indoor cycle, and barre. She believes deeply that movement is and essential component of health and well-being. When not teaching, Kenzie stays busy maintaining the schedules of her three boys ages 10, 9, and 7.
She also loves to garden - finding deep joy in connecting with the earth and observing the process of growth, going for walks, traveling to new places both near and far, curling up with a good book, and researching anything and everything. She is an introvert who found a home on the mat sharing this deeply healing art form in creative and connected ways.
