Liisa attended her first yoga class in 1999 on a whim, when she dropped into a class at the local gym. She knew she'd gain strength and flexibility - but in her words, the unexpected gift: "Practicing yoga transformed my worry and stress, into inner calmness."
In 2016, Liisa received her 200-hour yoga certification from Lundberg Yoga. She completed her 300-hour ABYS Level II certification in 2020, also from Lundberg Yoga. Liisa will always be a student of the practice, continuing both her yoga and meditation training with wonderful yoga and meditation teachers such as Rachel Lundberg, Julie Gudmestad, Stuart Stark and Caren Prentice. In her words, "I'm deeply grateful for the wisdom and kindness all my teachers continue to share with me - which I then get the joy of sharing with others.”
Liisa loves bringing the accessibility of alignment-based yoga to all bodies and it makes her heart smile when she sees her students choosing exactly what feels best in their own bodies, regardless of what the person next to them is doing. She hopes you’ll step off your mat feeling encouraged, refreshed and balanced.
Currently Liisa teaches a variety of beginning and all-level yoga and meditation classes, workshops and privates. When she’s not teaching, she loves spending time with her family. And when weather is permitting, Liisa loves teaching outdoors, encouraging all her students to wiggle their toes in the cool grass and experience the healing power of nature.
